Rains x Umbro just gave us all a reason to look forward to those early morning winter coffee runs. The ones where the sky’s grey, your hoodie’s soaked, and the takeaway lid never quite fits. Making you question just how awake you actually are.
This capsule forecasts a shift in season, mood, and movement. Where Umbro brings its off-pitch heritage, Rains adds the outerwear architecture. Delivering a collection built for wet-weather days that still manage to go hard. Showers outside, heat levels up.

Umbro’s history is rooted in British sport culture. Rains is grounded in Scandinavian utility and modern silhouettes. Together, they’ve created something that’s part streetwear, part weatherproof sculpture. Technical zip fronts. Clean matte finishes. A neutral palette that lets the cuts do the talking. It’s got that effortless confidence. The kind of gear you throw on without thinking, but everyone else notices. And don’t even get us started on that logo lockup…
The capsule is called “Apply Pressure”, and it does exactly that. In the best way. Think drill tops, fan puffers, manager coats and capes that look equally at home on the touchline or the turnstile. Someone tell Jose, because it’s got his energy written all over it. Umbro’s original Drill Shirt was a key reference point, a piece that once made the jump from training pitch to everyday wear. This new drop picks that thread back up and carries it into the now.

For us at Open All Hours, this one lands because it doesn’t feel overthought. And yet, feels very deliberate. It’s functional fashion with a cultural undertone. Something you’d wear to a Saturday match or a gallery launch in Manhattan. The pieces give raincoats their main character moment, which, let’s be honest, they rarely get.
This feels like it’s designed for that in-between weather. The commute. The pitstop. The post-gym stretch when you’re still half sweating but it’s spitting outside. Rains and Umbro just wrapped it all up. So yeah, we’re expecting some serious heat, and for all the right reasons.
The capsule drops globally on 24 September via Rains’ site and retail stores. Plan accordingly, and bring your umbrella.
