Call it a summer checkout.
August has a way of pulling the room toward a particular kind of thinking. Slower and more wandering than usual. Conversations that started about a project end up somewhere near the Italian coast and nobody minds. The pile this week arrived with that feeling already in it.
There's been a lot of discussion about place this week, not in a nostalgic way but in the way that certain locations carry a quality of attention you can't manufacture elsewhere. The best creative work tends to come from people who've spent time somewhere that asked something of them. That idea has been sitting at the counter all week and finding its way into everything.
Yamal showed up post World Cup and sparked something. Watching someone operate completely unbothered by the scale of what's being asked of them is its own kind of education, and the room has been returning to that quality across very different conversations about very different work.
Not the usual window. That one got left without comment, which felt like the right response.
A long shot of the good stuff, no agenda, afternoon still ahead.

Shot of the good stuff.
