The house has been in a particular kind of mood this week.
Summer does something to the pace of a room. Conversations slow down in the best way, people linger longer at the counter and the pile that accumulates tends to reflect that. More eclectic than usual. Things that arrived from different corners of what everyone in the house has been thinking about separately.
King Kev in that particular red landed on Tuesday and immediately started a conversation about legacy that ran well past the second coffee. The Beck graphic system appeared the same afternoon, which felt less like coincidence and more like the house making a point. There's something about that generation that keeps pulling us back. The way they existed before the image became the thing, when what you did was still bigger than how you looked doing it.
The house has been thinking about that gap a lot this week. Maybe it’s our age.
That coffee cup shot has been on the wall all week and nobody's moved it. The house runs on the stuff and there's something about seeing it laid out like that, every variation, every vessel, every shade from black to almost milk, that feels like a portrait of this place more than anything we've ever planned or curated.
Someone in the house has been somewhere warm or is planning to be. That energy has been with us for the last month and the pile absorbed it without anyone making a decision about it.
The best batches always work that way.
A long shot of the good stuff, windows open, no particular rush.

Shot of the good stuff.
