The house smirked the moment we saw this. That's always the sign.

Cult Kits have been building something with illustrator John Gillard for a while now. The Socceranos collection is the most fully realised version of that partnership yet, and it landed in the house this week and hasn't left the conversation since.

The concept is deceptively simple. Take two of The Sopranos' most iconic characters and run them through the visual language of vintage football culture. Tony gets reimagined in the Kappa Kombat, one of Italian football's most celebrated shirts, alongside the line "Back when Italy had some respect." Paulie gets placed in the snow-covered chaos of the Pine Barrens, one of the show's most discussed episodes, rendered in Zooligan's distinctive illustration style with the weight of someone who understands exactly what both references mean to the people who love them.

What makes this work is the same thing that makes any good collaboration work. 

Nobody is pretending to care about something they don't actually care about. 

Zooligan is a football obsessive and a West Ham fan who has spent years developing an illustration language that sits at the intersection of terrace culture and pop culture. Cult Kits have built one of the most respected vintage football communities in the country. When two cult followings with overlapping sensibilities come together properly, the result doesn't need explaining. It just lands.

The collection extends beyond the two hero artworks into tees, embroidered pieces, sticker packs and collectible ephemera that reward fans who know every quote and every episode. The Japanese graphic language that runs through the wider Cult Kits world is woven throughout, giving the whole thing a visual coherence that lifts it beyond a one-joke reference drop into something that actually holds up as a designed object.

There's a limited run on this one and for good reason. The house has already made its move.
