Then there’s Flow, which now behaves less like automation software and more like a translator. You describe what you want to happen and it builds the system for you. Tag this. Trigger that. Connect behaviour to response. No visual clutter. No technical intimidation. Just logic expressed in words. Designers may not own this tool, but they will feel its impact when systems stop breaking the experience they worked so carefully to shape.
One of the most significant shifts sits slightly outside the design conversation but affects it deeply. Agentic Storefronts place products directly inside AI conversations on platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity. Commerce is no longer confined to a page. It lives inside dialogue. Designers will need to think about how brand tone, product language, and visual consistency translate when the interface is no longer a screen.
